Long time no write...

Well, it's been quite awhile since we updated our personal site...most of our updates are all about Owen on his site! Not much is new with us. We're looking forward to our trip to the town of Newport on the Oregon coast. We're going over Memorial Day weekend, and are excited to check out the area and for a little road trip with the fam. Drew and Owen have never been there, and it's been forever since I have. Otis will be coming too, and we're guessing that he'll LOVE it, since he's never been on sand or seen the ocean, but has recently become a man and fallen in love with swimming! :-)

Drew is also racing on a relay team for the Pole Pedal Paddle next weekend. He's doing the cross-country leg, which should be interesting seeing as he hasn't cross-country skied since he was in high school! Good thing it's all for fun!

The built-ins are finally IN!!!

Drew and I are both so excited...we finally have our cabinets done in the hallway and are rid of that ugly, gigantic desk! We still have to get a glass top for the desk and have someone come out to lay the carpet, but just thought I'd share!

Tonight we're going to meet Julie, Jeff, Eli, and Bethany down in the Old Mill. We're grabbing dinner at Anthony's fish house, and sitting out on the patio so we can hear the band The Shins. We're really looking forward to the show!

Otis also has his second puppy class tonight. Hopefully it will be more successful than last week's attempt. All of the other pups were really well behaved, and Otis was bouncing off the walls and wanted to get a piece of each of the other pups! The woman who runs it recommended feeding him his dinner and exercising him to wear him out before we come tonight, so we'll give that a try and see what happens! :o) He has gotten really good at sitting and the lie down commands, but coming when called is still something we're working on. He definitely has a mind of his own! Smart boy...

Yay...We made it to the 2nd Trimester!!!

We are officially 13 weeks today, which is a huge relief! We had the Nuchal Translucency Screening ultrasound and blood test done on Friday, and should get the results soon. We also got some great pictures, but am not sure if I can post. Lately I've been having problems publishing pictures on the blog, but I'll give it a shot!

In other news, Otis has gotten HUGE! He is a big handful, and we're working on some obedience tricks. He's gotten pretty good at "sit" and is starting to improve the "lie down" when heavily enticed by treats! :o) He made his first long car trip to Ashland a couple of weeks ago, and we're driving out with him to Telluride, Colorado in a couple weeks to visit Drew's parents. Should be an interesting drive with a 12 week old puppy!

Bend and Other Stuff...

Well I can't believe it's already August! We arrived in Bend almost a month ago, and I don't know where the time has gone! We both love the house, and even Soma (the cat) has adjusted to the lazy life of a big house in a small town! :o) We've been exploring the town a bit, and getting settled in the house. Our neighbors are all very friendly, and we are really enjoying the slower pace here. It's been really hot, so not a lot of hiking yet, but we did make it out to Tumalo Falls and got to the top of that! We have a trip planned to the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland in a couple of weeks, and are driving out to Telluride, Colorado to visit Drew's parents in the middle of September for a Blues & Brews Festival. Other than that, we're home-bound for now, and are happy with that!

We picked up a new chocolate lab puppy this last Sunday, named Otis. He is cute as can be, but a HUGE handful! We're working on potty training, but right now he's so young that it's mostly just damage control for us so we don't have accidents all over the house.

In other news, we found out right before we left San Diego that we're pregnant! This was an enormous surprise to us, as we've tried pretty much everything under the sun to get pregnant with no luck. We are both thrilled! We're currently almost 10 weeks along, and are cautiously optimistic that we'll be having a baby sometime in early March. More news on this to come, for sure!

Our Moving Date is Set...FINALLY!!!

For a couple of weeks, we thought we might be getting the boot from our apartment earlier than we were planning. Things seem to have settled down with that though, and our landlord has agreed to let us stay through the end of June. So...our plan for now is to leave San Diego by June 30th for Bend. We've been scoping out all of the furniture we want for our house, and Allison has been working on getting her Oregon credentials lined up and looking for a job! We're both pretty sad to leave San Diego, but are looking forward to starting our life in Bend!

Drew's parents, Francine and Peter, came to visit a couple of weeks ago for a belated 30th birthday celebration. We had a really nice time visiting with them and showing them around town a bit. We also went up to San Francisco in January to meet our new niece, Isabel.

Today's just a lazy Sunday, and we're both gearing up for a busy week. Only two more weeks to go until Spring Break, and we can't wait! :o)

Dreaming of Bend

It's been a few months since we bought our house in Bend, Oregon. Both of us are VERY excited to move out of our one-bedroom condo into our spacious new abode! It will be a huge change for us, but hopefully one for the better. We're both really looking forward to living in a slower, quieter place...free from constant traffic and ambulances tearing past our front door!
